1964 Green Ford Mustang
Watercolor, 11” x 14”, 2016

Ahhhh……the 1964 Green Ford Mustang – my favorite car! Long hoods, short rears, the mustang ornament gracing the front grill. Yes yes…I know I’m completely biased in saying this car is the most beautifully designed vehicle on the planet! Ford sold 22,000 units in it’s first day, and 418,000 in the first year . The 1964 Ford Mustang was used as the Indianapolis 500 pace car for that same year. 185 of these pace car replicas were sold to the public in 1964 distributed through only the top 5 dealerships in each district – making these replicas even more sought after and valuable. Who has one of these??? First generation Mustangs were made between 1964 and 1973. Mustang is now in it’s 6th generation. Did you know that the 1st Mustang left the Ford Motor Company factory on March 9, 1964 and sold for $2,368? I’ll take 5 of them please!
